India BIS Product Certification: New substances added to the BIS list
New chemical substances have been added to the India BIS list and therefore, companies placing the listed chemicals on the Indian market must secure a BIS license prior to placing them on the Indian market. With the new addition of substances the BIS list contains 33 chemicals and more are expected to be added.
Recently added substances as follows:

IS 5149:2020 | Maleic Anhydride, Technical | Maleic Anhydride (Quality Control) Order, 2020 |
IS 12540:1988 | Acrylonitrile | Acrylonitrile (Quality Control) Order, 2020 |
In addition, companies placing chemicals on the Indian market that are planned to be added to the BIS list, will need to start preparing their applications well in advance so that they are able to react immediately upon these chemicals are finally listed.
