The UK left the EU on the 31st of January 2020 and right after this a transition period of 11 months started on the 1st of February when EU law continues to apply to an in the UK. During the transition period UK based companies have the possibility to take the necessary actions to safeguard their continued supply to the EU by transferring their EU REACH registrations and authorisations and other assets to EU companies before the end of the transition period, meaning before the 31st of December, 2020. At the same time, from 1st January 2021, a new UK chemical regulatory legislation will start applying in the UK and both UK based companies and Non-UK companies supplying chemical substances to the UK will need to comply with the new chemical regulatory framework UK REACH.
With only three months left to the end of the transition period and the entry into force of a new chemical regulatory framework in the UK, companies will need to be aware of what actions they need to take to remain both EU REACH and UK REACH compliant.
To help the industry understand the key actions to be taken during the transition period and from 1st January 2021 and onwards, REACHLaw is hosting the following online sessions. We invite you to sign-up to the webinar(s) of your interest:
