Important Update: Ropes and Cordages (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2026
The Ministry of Textiles, through S.O. 2871(E) dated 5th June 2026, has notified the Ropes and Cordages (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2026, introducing a significant relaxation for:
- Fibre Ropes — Polypropylene Split Film, Monofilament and Multifilament (PP2) and Polypropylene High-Tenacity Multifilament (PP3) — 3-, 4-, 8- and 12-Strand Ropes (Applicable Standard: IS 5175:2022)
QCO Amendment Highlights
Products manufactured from recycled plastic waste under the above category will be exempt from the requirements of the Ropes and Cordages QCO for a period of 12 months from the date of publication of the Amendment Order, 2026.
