REACH obsolescence risk and supply chain management for space programs – Stakeholders’ Day

A workshop on “REACH obsolescence risk and supply chain management for space programs” focusing on the concerns for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) will be held on the 16th of May, 2017, from 09:00 AM -17:00 PM, at the European Space Agency (ESA – ESTEC premises, Keplerlaan 1, 2200 AG, Noordwijk, The Netherlands).

The objective of this event is to establish a communication network between the Materials and Processes Technology Board (MPTB) members and SMEs, and academia that are involved in hardware manufacturing for space programs to address the following questions:

  • What are the needs and challenges in the area of materials and processes for stakeholders in the European space sector?
  • How can we improve to share information and feed innovation effectively across the European space sector?
  • Where can the MPTB provide support and how can we establish a functional communication network?

Representatives from ECHA, REACHLaw and industry have been invited to give presentations on the most current REACH topics, such as authorisation for chromates, supply chain communication and enforcement, and how to address REACH at a company level. Read the full programme here.

The event will be complemented by a general round table discussion moderated by REACHLaw and contributions from participants are very welcome to understand the challenges of European Stakeholders for (REACH) obsolescence management for materials and processes, provision of innovative solutions and service for testing and development.
