India BIS Update: Aluminium and Aluminium Alloy Products QCO Now in Force
The Aluminium and Aluminium Alloy Products (Quality Control) Order, 2025 is now in force from 1st October 2025 for all manufacturers except micro and small enterprises (dates below). This means it is now mandatory for both domestic and foreign manufacturers planning to place aluminium and aluminium alloy products on the Indian market to obtain BIS Certification under Scheme I for their products before market entry.
17 aluminium products are covered under this Quality Control Order (QCO). All goods and articles listed must conform to the relevant Indian Standards and carry the Standard Mark under a valid BIS licence.

- Implementation date for small enterprises: 1st January 2026
- Implementation date for micro enterprises: 1st April 2026
