Great news for companies awaiting PCN fee relief in Belgium
After years of industry feedback and long-standing frustration, Belgium’s new PCN fee is active now and it is great news for companies managing hazardous mixture notifications. It is due to the 2025 amendment in the Royal Decree of November 13, 2011, establishing the fees and contributions payable to the Budget Fund for raw materials and products.
From 1 January 2026, €200 per-mixture PCN fee is replaced by a below new tiered annual fee structure. This means no more paying per product, and significantly lower costs for companies. The fee is due from the year following the declaration and is paid on the basis of the invoice drawn up by the administration:
- 1–5 mixtures: €0
- 6–20 mixtures: €500
- 21–75 mixtures: €1,000
- 76–100 mixtures: €2,000
- 101–250 mixtures: €3,000
- 251–500 mixtures: €5,000
- 501–1,000 mixtures: €7,000
- 1,001–2,000 mixtures: €10,000
- 2,001–5,000 mixtures: €15,000
- 5,001–10,000 mixtures: €20,000
- More than 10,000 mixtures: €40,000
