Technical Regulation of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) on Safety of chemical products (TR041/2017) approved on March 3rd 2017 and commonly called “Eurasia REACH” covering the following countries: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan will be implementing a mandatory GOST Standard applicable to the compilation of Chemical Safety Passports for chemical products placed on the EAEU market. GOST No. 30333-2007 becomes mandatory once TR041 enters into force. This means that all chemical products (substances or mixtures) will have to be accompanied by the GOST No. 30333-2007 compliant Chemical Safety Passport regardless of chemicals products being classified as hazardous or not and regardless of the tonnage band if these products are placed in either of the member-states. In this presentation, among other topics we’ll discuss the regulatory basis behind Chemical Safety Passports and explain the main differences comparing to the EU REACH compliant Safety Data Sheets.
